Denver

Denver is definitely a place we could live. The Rockies we drove through on the way were GORGEOUS! Not to mention all the cute little ancient mining towns. The city was not too big, not too small. The weather was familiar but more temperate. We like Denver!
In the few weeks before we moved we had many experiences with friends and family who are parents that made us cringe, realize how difficult parenting can be and decided we weren't into it for another 10 years. But on our drive out here we got to stop in Denver at one of Gian's best friend's house and hang out with his awesome family. They have 5 kids and they totally changed our minds. If we can have a family like theirs it will be pretty great!

This little blond-asian baby won my heart. We have no idea how she got such cute little squinty eyes and lovable cheeks, but we LOVE it. She was always ready to pose for the camera and was especially excited to take this photo because she had highjacked her brothers "flops".
We also had a blast with the boys out in the back yard playing track ball, swinging on their rope swing and playing the classic game red rover which they begged and begged and begged to play. It was interesting with 2 adults, 3 kids and a baby. Then it was on to a game of Sorry, lunch with plenty of discussion about hot cheetos, lots of jinxing and then an episode of Scooby-doo with aliens (which I am disappointed to not know how it ends).

Sarah and Steve took us downtown to the modern art museum and around town.

Some of my favorites were this giant bear peeking into the convention center...
...and this face crying baby Summer made when we went through a dark tunnel. Ha!We finished the night off with the art lesson their artist son Mason begged dad for at bed time and of corse the Fox and Cooper wanted to join in, too. He very seriously considered himself the family artist and was beyond excited that Gian was a real artist. It was so cute! And Gian gave the perfect little "lesson" involving their boy-tough favorite animals a horse, fox and wolf.

Thanks for letting us stay and play, Steve and Sarah! I'm sure it's pretty obvious but we love your family... (they give us hope)

I VERY much enjoy reading your blog! Thanks for making it so entertaining. Maybe we'll see you in Denver someday...we've discussed the fact that it's very liveable, too! I hope you make friends with all of the people at the farmer's market and I say you should start your own stand out there with your homemade enchilada sauce :-)
